Without any hard data to back me up, I think the thermal coverings on the windows make a bigger difference than insulating the L-track connections. I know that thermal coverings on window glass make a big difference, too. With insulation was a considerable improvement, despite some thermal conductivity through the L-track and other exposed van metal. I have experienced trying to heat my van (that doesn't use standoffs) without insulation, and I've experienced heating it with insulation. ![]() ![]() Click to expand.I haven't seen any experimentally-determined differences between insulating the van without some kind of standoffs and doing so with standoffs.
